Holidays in a faraway destination

Summer is coming and many of us feel like packing our bags and heading to the furthest corner of the world to discover exotic places and disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. However, planning such a holiday is time-consuming, stressful and expensive. You have to plan a travel itinerary, book plane tickets, apply for visas, take out travel insurance… Also, if you are travelling with your family, Your holiday abroad could turn out to be less exciting than you think at first. Travelling with children is always tricky,  you have to think about how to keep them busy, so they don’t get bored, consider that they may not appreciate the local food and that they tend to get tired easily.

Staycation

If a trip abroad is too ambitious for you, a staycation in the UK is a good option. A staycation doesn’t necessarily mean staying at home all summer playing Parcheesi with your kids and visiting the local zoo. Our country boasts plenty of wonderful places where you can spend a few days relaxing with your family and enjoying nature without having to spend too much. A good alternative is to book a caravan at a holiday park such as Tencreek in Cornwall. The establishment offers a wide range of activities and facilities that will make your family holiday comfortable and fun at the same time: swimming pool, supermarket, kid’s club, entertainment, bars and restaurants… The children can have fun all day long, and the parents can -finally- rest and have some time for themselves.

The county of Cornwall also offers a wide range of leisure and entertainment possibilities for the whole family. Wonderful sandy beaches, attractions such as the Eden Project, the National Marine Aquarium or the Monkey Sanctuary or places like Looe and Polperro. In addition to these, the county hosts numerous music festivals and food shows throughout the summer, allowing you to discover the local culture and heritage.

Home or away? You choose!

Both staying in the UK and going abroad have their pros and cons. If you have the budget and don’t mind spending some time on planning your trip (including the time needed to get your visa), holidays abroad can be a fun and refreshing experience. If you prefer a low-cost, relaxing holiday, then go for a staycation. The latter also gives you the possibility to discover your own country and support the local economy.
